How often should bath toys be replaced?

I was just going through my girls bath toys and they all have a white residue on them I threw most of them out just cause I think they should be replaced often but how often. Those squirty toys I often find if I don’t end up putting them away don’t get emptied and the next time they have a bath there is black stuff that comes out what is this.

I agree with the other poster. Likely you have soap residue. I don’t know anybody who replaces bath toys unless they are broken, so couldn’t give you a ’schedule.’ The toys are cleaned. The exception is sponge toys which need to be completely air dried after every use and those do get thrown out after a couple of months.
